The SOS Bus consists of the SOS Bus, Medical Unit and a mobile support vehicle and operates from 9.00pm – 3.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The team consists of up to 7 volunteers, including two St John Ambulance members, a dedicated security member and a Paramedic.

The SOS Bus is in radio contact with the Police, Ambulance Service, CCTV, Local Pubs and Nightclubs via the Siren digital radio system, by which clients are frequently referred to the service. Otherwise clients access the service via referral, walking in off the street or may be brought in by friends or members of the public.

The SOS Bus provides a confidential and non-judgemental service, to anyone in need and is run by the OPEN Youth Trust a registered charity (no) 1108712. 

The team is made up of the following:

We receive funding from:

  • NHS Commissioning Groups
  • Local organisations and individuals.
