On Thursday 1st November, city centre youth charity OPEN Youth Trust (OPEN) held a circus themed Fundraising Dinner which saw the youth charity’s Banking Hall transformed into a Big Top.

Celebrating 250 years of the circus, the 190 guests in attendance were stirred by moving speeches and creative writing pieces from young people whom the charity has helped make a positive difference to their lives.

During the evening, the audience was treated to live performances by young people as well as circus acts and an aerial performance from Foolhardy Circus Troupe.

The evening was designed to raise both awareness and funds of the charity with the evening raising over £26,000, more than the charity has ever raised from their previous fundraising dinners, which will go towards providing further positive opportunities for young people in Norfolk.

Chief Executive John Gordon-Saker said; “Whilst raising additional funds is always important, our priority was to reach out to the broader business community and create on-going partnerships, sponsorship and wider use of our conference and event facilities so that we can significantly increase the range of activities we can offer young people and achieve the best for them and their families.”
