With Norwich being chosen as one of a handful of cities across the country to be recognised for its significant circus heritage as part of celebrating 250 years of the circus, OPEN Youth Trust (OPEN) invites you to their Big Top Showcase performance on Thursday 19th July!
With last year’s Summer Showcase being an incredible success, OPEN continues its tradition of giving young people the opportunity to organise and even perform in their very own showcase – showing off their talent and hard work in skills and passions that have been nurtured through their time with the charity. They have been involved with every stage of the event, from planning and design to performing, following OPEN’s key focuses of giving young people practical skills and participation. All money raised through ticket sales will go back into the charity, allowing activities and events such as this to be possible and for the charity to continue to help young people, including those most disadvantaged, throughout Norfolk.
This year’s event celebrates 250 years of the circus and promises to bring amazement and wonder of the big top with a variety of acts that are sure to wow and impress the audience. The event is being overseen by Michaela Rudling, who was a former user of the charity herself, has performed in previous showcases, before becoming an Apprentice Youth Worker for OPEN. She now works as OPEN’s Youth Dance Instructor and leads several of the dance classes and other activities for young people. The showcase will be held in front of the peers and parents of the young people involved, as well as local dignitaries and supporters of OPEN.
Michaela said: "The aim of our showcase is to highlight the achievements of our service users, and to demonstrate how they have triumphed over time whilst giving them an opportunity to celebrate their success". It is also a great way for us to demonstrate how young people who access our activities can develop in a positive way during their time with us".
Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for children.
