City centre charity, OPEN Youth Trust (OPEN) is looking for young people aged between 14 – 19 years to become music champions.

As part of a funded programme through the Big Music Project, OPEN are looking for young people to become ‘Big Music Champions’ and assist with the promotion and running of their monthly ‘OPEN Unplugged’ events.  These events are an open mic night for young people and their friends. 

There will be numerous positions on offer for young people to get involved, including photography and filming, promotion leading up to the event and supporting with sound set up on the night.   What’s more if you are a young singer/songwriter or musician aged between 11 - 19 there are always opportunities for you to perform too.

Johnny Raspin, Big Music Youth Worker for OPEN said "As part of this project each young person will be given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and also complete a ‘Bronze Art Award”.  The OPEN Unplugged event runs once a month on a Wednesday evening between 6pm-8pm with our existing champions meeting  every Tuesday evening from 5pm-7pm to complete their Arts Award”.
