With the launch of the new pound coin, city centre youth charity OPEN Youth Trust (OPEN) is calling for people to donate their old £1 coins and help the charity to make a difference to the lives of young people living in Norfolk.

With the circulation of new pound coins, OPEN is calling on individuals to bring in their money pots with old pound coins and which allow them to assist more vulnerable young people.

Grainne Buckley, Head of Fundraising said: “We know that many of you have been collecting pound coins, so rather than take them to the bank to get them exchanged we would like you to please donate them to us instead.  Every £25 we receive would give a young person valuable access to two hours of 1:1 time with a youth worker."

OPEN offers many activities aimed at increasing the self esteem, confidence and mental health wellbeing and one such example are the singing lessons on offer which are known to help to reduce stress levels and depression. All of OPEN’s activities are available to children and young people from the ages of 7 – 25.

You have been now until end of September to donate your coins to us.  Just drop them off to our Box Office anytime Monday – Saturday from 10.00am – 6.00pm.
